Sponge Docks + Cold Brew

If you're from Florida and hear someone mention Tarpon Springs, your first thoughts probably include the Sponge Docks, Greek restaurants, and the water. Now, you need to add Urban Grounds Coffee Lounge to that list.
As I was scrolling through Instagram stories earlier this week, I saw a post of a super cute coffee shop that looked like something out of a movie. I quickly tapped on the location and realized how close it was, and messaged some friends to join me there the next morning. Urban Grounds Coffee Lounge is in Downtown Tarpon Springs, nestled on the corner of E Tarpon Ave. There are several parallel parking spots out front, or if you're like me and parking stresses you out, just park in the lot that's just two buildings further and enjoy a quick walk.
Urban Grounds offers water cups and paper menus at a table when you walk in, which I thought was a great touch. I ordered a large cold brew with vanilla, extra cream and extra sugar, and a Green Goddess sandwich on multigrain bread. The cost was around $15, which I thought was fair. The cold brew was delicious, I didn't think it was bitter at all, but next time I'll try it with less cream and sugar. The sandwich was incredible, it had avocado, hummus, cucumbers, sprouts, and an oil type dressing throughout. The sandwich also came with a side of kettle potato chips.
There are several seating options, which I wish I could've gotten better photos of but I didn't want to photograph everyone sitting there. You can choose the ground level, below ground level that's tucked away with a railing separating it from the other levels, or upstairs. We chose the ground level and enjoyed answering the trivia questions that they had playing on the television screen. I thought that this coffee lounge was perfect for a friendly get together, a breakfast date, or studying!
I am so happy that I have a newer coffee lounge nearby, and I suggest you check it out next time you're in the area. As of tomorrow, September 22, they'll have all things Pumpkin Spice including pastries and coffee flavors so you know I'll have to make another trip to try those out. I'm hoping that they'll have some fun flavors around Christmas time, too!
